Board members wanted!
The Centennial Valley Tennis Association is seeking qualified board members for two-year terms that would begin Jan. 1. The board meets monthly, usually on Sunday evenings and usually in the Louisville, Colo., area. Board members are expected to help promote tennis in the Louisville-Boulder area in a variety of ways, including the management of social events, decisions on tennis facilities, input into league issues, etc. The CVTA conducts and/or participates in one large tennis tournament per year. Anyone interested in applying should call Steve Caulk at 303-439-7892 or send an email to info@cvtatennis.org. Tennis skills will have no impact on determination of the eligibility of prospective board members.

Court Resurfacing

As early as Tuesday, Sept.  7, 2010, a company hired by the City of Louisville will begin patching and resurfacing the Centennial Park tennis courts.  Weather permitting, workers will start with the east courts and then proceed to the west courts. The east courts will most likely be closed for about three days from the time the work begins. The west courts will be closed for at least a week. All work is expected to be completed by Sept. 17.

We are currently relocating any league matches that were due to be held at Centennial Park during that time, and most matches will likely move to Louisville Recreation Center.

For additional info please contact about the impact on leagues, please contact League Coordinator Paige Hayes at howdypaige@gmail.com. For information about the resurfacing schedule, please call the city at 303.666.6565.

Boulder County Cup, Oct. 9, 2010

The Boulder County Cup is set to be held Oct 9, 2010, at the University of Colorado South tennis courts. The Centennial Valley Tennis Association is currently working with the Boulder Tennis Association and Longmont Tennis Association to confirm details regarding who will play at what times and under what rules. The Boulder County Cup, going into its seventh year, features competition between the three local tennis associations, and all CVTA members are eligible to sign up.

Last year, the tournament featured 50 players at all levels of play, and they competed under World Team Tennis rules, which allowed unlimited substitution. The rules and structure of the BCC have varied from year to year, depending partly upon the preferences of the host group. This year, the CVTA will organize and host the event. For information, contact Susan Olenwine at solenwine@yahoo.com.
